Alexis Coleは2009年アメリカ陸軍に入隊し、2015年までthe West Point Band's Jazz Knights Big Bandのリード歌手を務めました。'Sky Blossom - Songs from My Tour of Duty'はその間にColeのためにアレンジされた曲を歌ったものです。 Joy Springでのボーカリーズから始まり、Miles Davis 'All Blues',Gigi Gryce 'Social Call'(筆者の特に好きな曲です。)やビリー・ジョエル、ビートルズまで幅広いレパートリーです。伴奏を務めるBig Bandのメンバーはあまり有名ではないようですが、アレンジも演奏も大変いいできで、アメリカらしいアルバムに仕上がっています。 (Dec,2021)
